On Saturdays in Ordinary Time when there is no obligatory memorial, an optional memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary is allowed. The memorial is a remembrance of the maternal example and discipleship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who seeks Christ just as the soul longs for God, and who finds him teaching as Holy Wisdom. So, let us also sit at Christ's feet and learn from him. This stained glass window is in the church of St John the Baptist in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
