Today, 15 October, is the feast of St Teresa of Ávila, Doctor of the Church who reformed the Carmelite Order, and wrote treatises of mystical theology. But the words above, her most famous, were written into her own breviary - a personal prayer for someone who faced great challenges and oppositions to her desires to reform her Order. This statue of the saint is in St Catherine of Siena's church in New York.
